Nancy Saddoris

Eden Prairie, Minnesota

Nancy Ellen Saddoris, age 80, of Eden Prairie, Minnesota passed away Tuesday December 6th, 2022 surrounded by family.  

Nancy was born Dec 23rd, 1941 in Omaha, Nebraska, the second daughter to Lloyd & Clarice Gardner. The family later moved back to Clarke County, Iowa where Nancy attended grade school at Leroy and Weldon, Iowa and in a one room country school east of Osceola. She graduated from Osceola High School with the Class of 1960.She was a member of the Jackson June Bugs and Osceola Attomettes 4-H clubs, entering exhibits at the county fair and winning several blue ribbons at the Iowa State Fair. In eighth grade she was one of the top winners in the County Conservation Workbook program. Growing up she helped with farm work, driving the tractor during haying season and also working at The Little Store in Osceola. In high school she was a member of choir, co-editor of the school yearbook, a reporter for the school newspaper and a member of the Quill and Scroll and the National Honor Society.

On September 9th, 1960 she and Stan Saddoris were married at the Methodist church in Osceola.They moved to Iowa City where Stan was a student at the University of Iowa and Nancy worked as a secretary at the college.  

To this union were born three children.Cindy Brimmer of Shakopee, Minnesota, Craig Saddoris of Grimes, Iowa and Jeff Saddoris of Ankeny, Iowa.

Upon graduation they moved to Clinton, Iowa. Stan’s career took them to Illinois, Kansas and Minnesota.They raised their family in Ankeny, Iowa and later moved to Eden Prairie, Minnesota.While living in Ankeny she worked for Sitzmann’s men’s clothing as their bookkeeper.She was a volunteer at the Ankeny school system and was a brownie and girl scout leader.  

Nancy enjoyed gardening.She had 5 flower beds with a variety of flowers, especially geraniums.She also loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them and hearing about all of their accomplishments and milestones.She looked forward to her frequent phone calls with her sister Marie White.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Mary Gardner and Carol Robins, brother in law Bob White, niece Vicki Fattore, nephews Darwin Green and Greg White.

She is survived by husband Stan, children Cindy Brimmer, Craig Saddoris (Becky) and Jeff Saddoris (Karen), Sister Marie White of Osceola, 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  

Visitation will be held at Kale Funeral Home (301 South Main Street in Osceola, Iowa) at 11:00 am on Saturday December 17th with a service to follow at 1:00 pm.Burial will be at Maple Hill in Osceola.
