Bonnie Kirscher, daughter of James “Cap” and Ena (Bradshaw) Smith was born July 5, 1945 in St. Charles, Iowa and passed from her life Monday, February 6, 2023 at home in Osceola, Iowa.
Bonnie grew up on the farm of her parents near St. Charles, Iowa, graduating from I-35 High School in 1963. After graduation she was united in marriage to Marv Kirscher in St. Charles on June 1, 1968, to which 3 children were born, Debbie, Larry and Carrie.
Bonnie and Marv moved to Osceola in 1973 to begin farming. Bonnie was a housewife as well as helping with the farm. Bonnie later went to town to work at Lil’ Duffer as a waitress, then Jimmy Dean, then later she was a secretary for SWCC then the Decatur County Hospital before retirement.
Bonnie was widowed on October 24, 2015 and stayed on the family farm until passing on February 6, 2023 with the help of Larry and Landin taking care of the farm.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ena Smith, brother Clair Smith, her husband Marv Kirscher, sister-in-law Betty Ann & Dick Bohall and other family and friends.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Debbie and Kendall Garner, Larry and LeaAnn Kirscher and Carrie and Eddie Benda, 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren as well as many other family and friends.
A Celebration of her Life will be Friday, February 17, 2023 at the Faith Fellowship in Osceola from Noon until 2:00 PM
