Paul Franklin Johnson, son of Aubrey H. and Maude (Jones) Johnson was born February 18, 1929 in Murray, Iowa and passed from this life Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at the Clarke County Hospital in Osceola, Iowa at 94 years of age.

Paul grew up on the family farm near Murray and attended Murray Schools and graduated from Murray high School in May of 1948.  On October 9, 1950 he was inducted into the U.S. Army and served until his honorable discharge at the rank of Corporal.  Paul returned from the Army to the family farm, where he is the 4th. generation to farm the land.  He was united in marriage to Patricia Joan Wake on March 7, 1951 at the Murray United Methodist Church, recently celebrating 72 years of marriage, they were blessed with three sons, Joel, Mark and Jay.

Paul enjoyed Railroad Motor Cars and was a member of the NARCOA, North American Railcar Operators Association, he enjoyed his checker car and was a member of the Motor Ioway Classic Car Club.  Paul enjoyed his many farm tractors, and went on several local and WHO Tractor Rides, he was a member of the Clarke County Old Iron Club,  and he also enjoyed hunting, and fishing.  Paul was a hard working, loving and caring family man who enjoyed farming and being outdoors.

Those relatives who preceded Paul in death were his parents, Aubrey and Maude Johnson and sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Max Oliver, brother-in-law, Fay Schlotfeldt.

Paul leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 72 years, Patricia Joan Johnson of Murray, IA, son, Joel (Lila) Johnson of Norwalk, IA, son, Mark (Kathleen) Johnson of Murray, IA, son, Jay Johnson of Murray, IA, grandchildren, Brandon (Mary) Johnson of West Des Moines, IA, and Ashleigh (Ed) Motzko of New Virginia, IA, great grandchildren, Sage Motzko, Charlotte Johnson, and Zander Johnson, sister, Janice  Schlotfeldt of Memphis, TN, niece, Janet (Mike) Adair of Cordova, TN, brother-in-law, J Rodney (Lisa) Wake of Wichita, KS, sister-in-law, Diane (Robert) Boller of Sun City, AZ, nephew, Jack M. Wake of Wichita, KS, nephew, Jeffrey (Annie) Wake of Wichita, KS as well as other relatives and many friends.

Memorial Services will be held at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola, Friday April 14, 2023 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Marty Burgus and Pastor Eddie Otto officiating.

Paul’s family will greet friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm prior to the funeral on Friday, April 14, 2023 at Kale Funeral Home.

Interment will follow, with military honors in the Murray CemeteryIn Lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made to the Murray Volunteer Fire Department or the Murray First Responders.
