Scott Ray McWilliams, son of Richard Paul McWilliams and Juanita Carmen Smith McWilliams was born February 13, 1960 in Osceola, Iowa and passed from this life Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa at 63 years of age.
Scott received his education in Osceola, Iowa where he attended Clarke Community Schools, graduating in 1978. Scott entered the United States Army in 1985 and attained the rank of Specialist 4 while he served his country overseas.
He later attended Des Moines Area Community College where he studied accounting and received his degree.
Scott lived in the Des Moines area for many years and worked as an Accountant for Acme Printing Company. He was an avid sports fan, especially when it came to the Chicago Cubs and the Iowa Hawkeyes. He attended many of their games over the years and also enjoyed going to the Iowa Cubs and Drake basketball games while living in Des Moines. Being outdoors was by far his great enjoyment. Whether it be camping or just sitting on the patio listening to music. Scott was also a member of the Osceola Eagles Lodge Aerie#3495 and AMVETS in Osceola.
Those relatives who preceded Scott in death were his mother, Juanita Carmen McWilliams; grandfather, Cecil “Red” Smith; grandmother, Aletha Beatrice Smith; grandfather, Hoyt Klemme; grandmother, Vera Klemme, and also his grandfather, Paul McWilliams.
He leaves to cherish his memory; father, Richard Paul (Dixie Rinner) McWilliams of Osceola, IA; brother, Steve (Stacy) McWilliams of Osceola, IA; sister, Shelly Obermeier of Anita, IA; nephew, Gabe (Karen) McWilliams of Creston, IA, nephew, Brian (Brandie) McWilliams of Ottumwa, IA, niece, Lindsey (John) Campbell of Decatur, IA, niece, Kelsey (Demetrius) Frazier of Ames, IA, nephew, Brett Obermeier of Des Moines, IA, as well as many great nieces & nephews other relatives and many friends.
Per his wishes, Scott was cremated. The family will greet friends at a visitation from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola.
Interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Osceola.
