William Charles Arnold was born at the Stroy Hospital in Osceola, Iowa on September 17, 1948. He passed away Saturday April 29, 2023 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
He graduated from Murray High School in 1968. Except while attending Northwest Missouri State College and for a couple of years after graduating, Bill was a life-long resident of Murray, Iowa. Bill started fighting fires with the Murray Volunteer Fire Department when he was still in high school and eventually served as Fire Chief. He served the Murray community as first responder and EMT. He was also a referee for high school sports. His community service continued when he joined the Clarke County Sheriff Department as jailer and dispatcher.
Bill was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand and developed a group of friends who are still very loyal to this day.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents Anna (Teno) Arnold and Charles Alfred Arnold. He is survived by sister Betty Arnold of Altoona, Iowa and brother Bob and Cindy (Erickson) Arnold of Lake City, Iowa, a nephew, two nieces and several faithful friends.
Services will be held at Kale Funeral Home - Osceola, Friday May 5, 2023 at 3:00 pm with Pastor Brian McCracken officiating. Family will greet friends from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm Friday, May 5, 2023 at Kale Funeral Home.
