James Oswald

James Arthur Oswald, son of Arthur Wayne Oswald and Maxine Wolters Oswald was born April 22, 1947 in Ft. Dodge, Iowa and passed from this life Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at Clarke County Hospital at 76 years of age.

Jim received his education in Pomeroy, Iowa where he graduated from Pomeroy High School in 1965.  Jim later served his country with the United States Air Force Reserves.  

Jim partnered with his father, Art and brother, Dan in the cattle business with property in Pomeroy, Ia and Osceola, Ia. Jim farmed the Osceola land with Art and Dan farming the Pomeroy land. During this partnership, a special friendship/business relationship developed between the Krutsinger and Oswald families. Following Arts death the partnership continued for several years. Jim loved everything about ranching, as did Ron, and this special friendship/business relationship continued.

Family was also paramount in Jim’s life. He thoroughly enjoyed his children and especially loved being surrounded by his grandchildren, Remi and Tyson.  Although he didn’t quite make it to the Sand Hills of Nebraska, he created a great life of cattle ranching and family here in Osceola

Relatives who preceded Jim in death were his father, Arthur Wayne Oswald, mother, Maxine Eula Oswald and a brother-in-law, Jim Boullion.

Jim leaves to cherish his memory; son, Joshua (Starr) Oswald of Osceola, IA, daughter, Haylee (Angelo) De Nubila of Ankeny, IA and his grandchildren, Remi and Tyson Oswald.  Also surviving are his sister, Bonnie (Dallas) Keiswetter of Hot Springs, SD, brother, Dan (Dianne) Oswald of Osceola, IA, sister, Linda Boullion of Norfolk, NE, niece, Sherri (Todd) Samuelson of Clive, IA, nephew, Dean (Carol) Keiswetter of Raleigh, NC, nephew, Brian (Mindy) Oswald of Osceola, IA, nephew, Mark (Julie) Keiswetter of Doha, Qatar, niece, Lisa (Jim) Lueders of Osceola, IA, nephew, Jon Arthur (Amanda) Oswald of Murray, IA, nephew, Jamie (Tiffany) Oswald of Osceola, IA, many great-nieces, nephews and cousins as well as other relatives and many friends.

Services were held at 10:30 am, Monday, May 8, 2023 at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola.  Interment was at Union Cemetery in Pomeroy, Iowa on Tuesday, May 9 at 11:30 A.M.

The family greeted friends from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm Sunday, May 7, 2023 at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola. A live stream will be available at www.kalefuneralhome.com on Jim’s tribute wall beginning at 10:30 am, Monday.
