Vernon Hupp

Des Moines

Vernon Frank Hupp passed away on January 10, 2025. Born in Perry, Iowa on June 19, 1962, Vernon lived an incredible and vibrant life. He was 62 years old.

As per his wishes, his body will be cremated, and his urn entrusted to his family. A celebration of life and burial of the urn will take pace at a later time.

Vernon was a devoted father, husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend who will be missed every day going forward. He was funny, stubborn, independent, and helpful. If you were a part of his family, or became his friend, then he had your back until the end.

He was a loyal man with a zest for life, travel, collecting, and cars. He was a true car enthusiast, restoring classic vehicles and participating in the Good Guys Car Show, with two of his cars gracing the pages of their esteemed magazine.

Professionally he served in many positions over the years, but retired from Wyckoff Heating and Cooling as a Customer Service Manager in 2024.

Vernon loved to travel anywhere he was able. Two of his favorite destinations were Arizona and Mexico. He was a dedicated fan of everything rocket ship and space exploration, and ventured to see many lift-offs. He enjoyed being outside and camping. He never passed up an opportunity to savor a good steak.

He was a bit of an eccentric man, as all wonderful people are. When he was happy, his joy became infectious as he smiled and danced in a silly and quirky way only dads can seem to master.

Most of all Vernon cherished his family, especially his daughter Geneva. When she was born, his entire life changed and his world became brighter.

Vernon is survived by his loving partner of many years, Andi Wright; his daughter Geneva (John Vancenbrock) Hupp; his parents Anna and Steve Harvey; his brothers Dan Hupp and Norman (Sue) Fears.

He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.Vernon was preceded in death by his sister Lauren Allen, and his Niece Erica Allen.

Memorial donations in Vernon’s honor may be directed toward the family.
