Beatrice Warren Iiams-McCarl

Beatrice “Bea” Iiams McCarl, born on October 9, 1946, in Osceola, Iowa, passed away on January 24, 2025, at the age of 78 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.

Beatrice received her education in Lorimor, Iowa, where she graduated from Lorimor High School. On May 29, 1963, she was united in marriage to Dwayne Dean Iiams in Murray, Iowa, and together they were blessed with a daughter, Angela.  Dwayne passed from this life March, 9. 2010.  She later married Mitchell Henry McCarl on June 1, 2013 in Union County, Iowa.

Throughout her life, Beatrice devoted herself to farming and worked diligently for Furnas Electric, which later became Siemens. She took great joy in fishing and cherished the time spent with her family.

Beatrice was preceded in death by her father and mother, Donald and Betty Warren; her first husband, Dwayne Dean Iiams; her daughter, Angela Marie Pereira; and her step-son, Doyle McCarl.

She leaves behind her beloved husband, Mitchell H. McCarl of Murray, IA; granddaughters, Lee Ann (Jonathan Delgado) Pereira and Amanda Johnson, both of Seguin, TX; great-grandchildren, Lilyann, Layton, Aly’cea, Reshaud, and Adisynn and several step-children, including Cindy McCarl of Clarion, IA, Crystal McCarl of Slater, IA, Kelly (Mark) Moberly of Webster City, IA, Autumn (Matt) Parmer of Murray, IA, and Mitchell (Donna) McCarl of Ankeny, IA. She is also survived by her sister, Donna (Leon) Phillips, and step-sisters, Ginnie (Ron) Hargis, Pat (Jim) Cook, Georgia (Jon) Garwick, and Sue (Mark) Hamilton, along with other relatives and many friends who will cherish her memory.

Services to honor Beatrice’s life will be held at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 12:00 pm, officiated by Pastor Scott Davis. Friends are invited to gather and pay their respects from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon on the same day at the funeral home.

A live stream of the service will be available at www.kalefuneralhome.com on Beatrice’s tribute wall beginning at 12:00 noon Saturday. Interment will follow at the Union Cemetery in rural Clarke County.
