No citations were issued after an accident 10:30 a.m. Dec. 1 of West Washington St.

According to an Osceola Police report, Harvey Leo Soenksen, 83, of Maquoketa, driving a 2006 Pontiac, was backing up from a parking stall and accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake causing him to hit a fense.

Estimated damage was $2,000 to the Osceola Water Works fense and $2,500 to Soenksen’s vehicle.

No citations were issued after an accident 5:30 a.m. Dec. 2 on Furnas Drive.

According to an Osceola Police report, an unoccupied 2020 Chevrolet in the McDonald’s parking lot was struck by Gut Chaney, 64, of New Sharon, driving a 2016 Kenworth semi.

Estimated damage was $8,000 to the 2020 Chevrolet and $500 to Chaney’s vehicle.

No citations were issued after an accident 1:45 a.m. Monday at the intersection of East Webster Street and North Park Street.

According to an Osceola Police report, Cameron William Martz, 43, of Osceola, driving a 2016 Dodge was backing up westbound on Webster Street toward Chandler James Roberts, 23, of Osceola, driving a 2012 Jeep who was also reversing on Webster Street, this continued for two blocks. As they were going through the intersection of Park Street Roberts tried turing southbound onto Park Street and ran into the no parking sign on the west side of the road. Martz backed northbound onto Park Street, they both ended up going forward directly toward each other and running into each other.

Estimated damage was $500 to Martz’s vehicle and $200 to Roberts’ vehicle.
