No citations were issued following a two-vehicle accident on Oct. 29 at the intersection of Highway 69 and Jefferson St.
According to an Osceola police report, Colton Wright, Osceola, was stopped at the intersection of S. Main St. and W. Jefferson St. heading south in a 2010 Ford Fusion. At the same time, a 2009 Hyundai Elantra driven by Emily Gonzales-Avalos of Osceola was stopped facing west at the intersection of S. Main St. and W. Jefferson St. Gonzales-Avalos stated that she thought Wright was going to proceed through the intersection but did not, so she drove through. Wright also started to drive into the intersection, and hit the back wheel of Gonzales-Avalos’ vehicle. A witness to the accident stated they were unsure if Gonzales-Avalos stopped all the way or not.
Damage is estimated at $5,000 to the 2010 Ford and $5,000 to the 2009 Hyundai.

No citations were issued following an accident in the Pilot truck parking lot, 2010 W. Clay St., on Oct. 30.
According to an Osceola police report, Landon Faraj of Houston, Texas was asleep in the bunk of his legally parked 2020 Freightliner. A 2018 Freightliner driven by Julio Cesar Aguillon Ortiz of Heroes de la Rev, Mexico, attempted to turn north around a corner in the parking lot. Aguillon Ortiz turned too soon, and ran over the curb. He then ran into the front corner of the passenger side cab of the 2020 Freightliner, causing major damage to the front of the tractor. There was damage to the underside of the 2018 Freightliner.
Faraj fell out of his bunk as a result of the collision and hit his head, and was transported to Clarke County Hospital via Clarke County Ambulance.
Damage is estimated at $1,000 to the 2018 Freightliner and $12,000 to the 2020 Freightliner.
