Clarke boys runners place

Two fifth-place finishes for the Clarke boys cross country highlighted their week.

Thursday, Sept. 9 at Colfax-Mingo, Ethan Domina was the first Clarke runner to finish. He came in 11th at 19:30. He was the first to get the team’s 147 points. Following him were: Calhound Lundquist, 14th, 19:37; Steven Hiatt, 32, 21:04; Micah Domina, 38, 21:20; Cooper Bahls, 38, 21:20; Nathaniel Bishop, 46, 22:20; DeVante Caldwell, 49, 22:41.

The boys also placed fifth with 117 points Sept. 7 at Central Decatur. Calhoun Lindquist was the first Clarke runner across the finish line in 19th place at 20:08. Following him were Domina, 24th, 20:53; Hiatt, 31st, 22:11; Caldwell, 39th, 23;28; Richie Donaldson, 45th, 25:09 and Devesh Desai, 46th, 26:06.

Clarke girls also competed last week but did not score team points. At Pleasantville on Sept. 13, Claire Jacobsen was the first Clarke girl to finish in 14th place in 23:46. Mayzi Hill came across in 35th in 29:16. At Central Decatur, Audrey Pointer finished 25th in 29:00. Hill finished in 27th in 30:10 and Lauren Mumaw was 33rd in 32:52.
