Clarke girls wrestling attended a tournament at Norwalk on Dec 10. They placed seventh of seven teams, with 47 points. Pella took first with 156 points. There are six Clarke varsity girl wrestlers. Friday’s meet at Ottumwa was canceled due to weather.
Mallory Tidman took first place in the 235-weight class, Janell Salinas second in 190, Yaretzi Avilez third in 190, Allison Corona took fourth in 135, Maisy Davis fifth in 115 and Izzy Hay sixth in 125.

Maisy Davis placed fifth, and scored 5 team points. She lost by 16-9 decision to Savannah Halstead (Norwalk) in the quarterfinal. In consolation round 1, Davis received a bye. Sydney Hoffman (Creston) won by a fall over Davis in the consolation semi at 0:55, and Davis received a bye in the fifth place match.

Izzy Hay placed sixth, and scored 3 team points. Hay lost by technical fall 18-2 to Emma Hill (Central Decatur) in the quarterfinal, and received a bye in the consolation semi. She lost in the fifth place match by 10-1 major decision to Maya Wojtowicz (Norwalk).
