CLARKE -- Despite a close game at home on Jan. 6, the Pleasantville Trojans managed to stay ahead of the Lady Indians for their first loss post-Christmas break. With a 14-14 tie ending the first quarter and a 25-21 Pleasantville lead going into halftime, Clarke was just unable to surge past their opponents. Maisy McCoy was the high scorer in the game, with 14 points, four of which were three-pointers. Reagen Fry followed with 10 points total, including one three-point shot. Reese Shaw put up eight points with two three-points, Kya Thornton added four and Miah Graves three with a three-point shot. The Lady Indians had a 33.3% shooting average from the floor with two-point attempts, and a 34.8% on three-point attempts.
Fry accounted for nine of the team’s 26 rebounds (seven offensive and 19 defensive) and had four steals; Graves followed with six steals. Shaw had the team’s two blocks.

CENTERVILLE -- The Lady Indians ended their week on the road at Centerville, with a 65-34 loss. The Centerville Big Reds held onto an early lead of 34-12 going into halftime, with the Indians only able to put up another 22 points to the Big Reds’ 31. McCoy scored 16 of the team’s points with five, three-point shots. Graves added nine points with three, three-point shots, and Sara Fry added a three-point shot as well.
Abbie Schlichte had 10 rebounds for the team, and Emilee Boyd had three of the five blocks.
