Murray girls win at home

MURRAY -- At home on Jan. 20, the Lady Mustangs fell 47-26 to the Mount Ayr Lady Raiderettes, who held them to low scoring throughout the game, with just seven points in the first quarter, one in the second, 12 in the third and six in the fourth.

Leah Frederick scored 11 of the girls’ 26 points. Maliya Berry and Keirsten Klein put up five each, Aylah Miller three and Mallory Page two. With 10 of 32 successful field goals, Murray had a 31.2% field goal success rate. Karina Romero logged 10 total rebounds - three offensive and seven defensive, and Berry had a high five steals.

MURRAY -- The Murray girls hosted a conference match-up Jan. 21 against the Orient-Macksburg Lady Bulldogs, winning 47-40. Murray controlled the lead going into halftime 21-16, for Orient-Macksburg to stay just a few points behind throughout the rest of the game.

Klein scored 14 points in the game, followed by Berry at 12. Miller had nine points, Frederick seven and Page five. Page had the game’s single three-point shot. Berry and Klein tied in rebounds with 13 each, and Klein had the high assists with five. Both Page and Miller had five steals.
